Judith "Judy" Ann Hilst, 79, of Canton, passed away at 11:47 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Graham Hospital. She was born on June 24, 1946 in Springfield to Frank and Annie (Bentley) Chadwick. She married Keith Hilst and he preceded her in death. Judy is survived by her children, Chris (Millie) Rose of Chatham, Tawni (Cooper) Johnson of Clarksville, Missouri, and Stormie (Anthony) DeJaynes of Springfield; grandchildren, Risty Johnson, Kimberlea (Joe) Scott, Allison (Mason) Kling, and Adam Rose; great-grandchildren, Drake Johnson, Benjamin Kling, and Rylan Scott; siblings, William "Bill" (Ada) Reed and Sheila (Mike) McGee; and sister-in-law, Patricia "Pat" Chadwick. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Lloyd Chadwick. Judy worked as a nurse in several nursing homes over the years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Daughters of the Confederacy. She enjoyed playing cards and studying genealogy. Cremation rites have been accorded and private burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences can be left for Judy's family at www.hurleyfh.com. I am so sorry to learn of Judy's passing. We were really good friends during our school years. We sure had a lot of fun. Great memories that I will never forget.
