Judith Ann Jensen, 86, of Sawyer transitioned to her home in Heaven on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Corewell Health South, St. Joseph.
Judy was born on June 3, 1938 in Evergreen Park, Illinois the daughter of the late Henry and Julia (Bihlmeier) Wiegman. On September 10, 1960 she married Warren Jensen, who she met as a teenager when her family began attending Elim Baptist Church in Chicago. Judy was an executive secretary for an insurance company until she transitioned to her role as mom, where she excelled. She is lovingly remembered for her desire to serve her family, her warm, welcoming demeanor, excellent hospitality skills, availability and receptive listening ear. She always worked hard to provide delicious meals, homemade bread, canned goods from the garden (in spite of the unwelcome insects that came with them), an open home and heart, serving in different capacities at Elim, Christian Women’s Club and as Secretary on the Bethany Tabernacle Board, as well as babysitting her grandchildren that brought her great joy. She always took time to talk to someone who called, stopped in, or came home from work or school with a need to share something. She willingly hosted out of town company with a place to stay, including missionaries, family members or visiting groups from Elim. Judy knew Jesus as her Savior and Friend, the One to whom she could give praise and pray to, find comfort and wisdom in, and trust to accomplish what was needed in any situation. Her work here was complete, but her mission is carried forward in each of us until we join her in Heaven.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Warren; five children: Donna (Mark) West, Randy (Jennifer) Jensen, Sheri (Charlie) Seminara, Connie (Wade) Freshour, and Kim (John) Remington; 15 grandchildren: Nikki (Jared), Nathan, Heather (Taylor), Vicki, Morgan (Sam), Kaylee, Carly, Justin (Hayley), Mykenzie, Abry (Brady), Gunnar, Brooke, Hank (Rose), Anika and Alexis; and six great grandchildren: Oliver, Zoen, Malachi, Izzy, Arden and Layla.
Judy was also preceded in death by two brothers: Daniel and Paul Wiegman
