Judith Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Living Waters Funeral Home & Crematory - Lyman on Mar. 10, 2026.
Greer, SC – Judith E. Johnson passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026. Judy was the daughter of the late Virgil and Freda Tilinski Garner.

Judy loved beautiful things; truly fitting for a beautiful soul. She enjoyed sparkly jewelry, delicate glassware, and fresh flowers, but her joy came from making her house a comforting home. She had a special gift for spreading comfort, uniquely decorating, and making every space feel warm and welcoming. She loved gardening and could often be found outside tending to plants, flowers, and seedlings while listening to the Chicago Cubs on the radio. Judy was also a fantastic cook who collected and tinkered with recipes, carefully adjusting them to make each dish just right for the people who would be enjoying it. The way she pulled delicious meals together so effortlessly was second to none.

In her more active days, Judy enjoyed bowling. She also loved watching sports and racing, from local dirt tracks to NASCAR; often delighting in organizing watch parties for her friends and family. She had a deep love for animals, especially cats and dogs, and the birds she faithfully fed and watched. She enjoyed reading and playing cards, always appreciating the simple pleasures of a quiet afternoon or a lively game with loved ones. She will be remembered for her warmth, her creativity, and the beautiful, comforting spaces she created for those around her.

She is survived by her children, Nichole Taylor and Bradley Johnson; and 2 grandchildren.

Judy is preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Howard.
