Judith Anne King (Hansen)
March 26, 1940 – December 7, 2025
LANSING, MI – Judith Anne King, age 85, passed away on December 7, 2025 in Lansing, Michigan.
Judy was born on March 26, 1940, in Greenville, Michigan to Chris and Arlene (Maltritz) Hansen. She grew up in Lansing and graduated from Sexton High School.
Judy married Kenneth King on July 3,1964 and they raised their family in Greenville Michigan. They shared nearly 56 years of marriage. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ken, her son David Tamblyn and her sweet little dog Charlie.
Judy is survived by her children Kristine Bayley (Christopher), Julie Houldsworth (Todd), and Dennis King (Melissa), daughter-in law Lisa Tamblyn Bergman and her seven cherished grandchildren—Tyler Tamblyn, Beca Tamblyn (Terry Kubsch), Eric Bayley, Lydia Bayley, Ross (Val) Houldsworth, Justin (Kristen) Houldsworth, and Kara Houldsworth, and one great-granddaughter—Mira Houldsworth, who all brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
Among her fondest memories were times spent at Bear Lake in Kalkaska surrounded by extended family. Judy and Ken also enjoyed several years in retirement traveling around the country in their motor home and living on Rainbow Lake in Trufant. Nothing made them happier than having the grandkids visit them at the lake and hearing their laughter while tubing or spending time around a fire. Judy and Ken eventually returned to the Lansing area and lived out their days in Grand Ledge.
Judy was smart, devoted, and strong willed. She was a friend to many and had a beautiful smile. Judy was an amazing seamstress, she loved to shop and truly was a one of a kind. Judy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The family would like to express their gratitude for all of the compassion and care that Judy received from Sparrow Home Hospice and also Sparrow Hospice House.
