Judith "Jude" Manzelmann

Judith "Jude" Manzelmann, age 83, of Eagle River, WI, passed away on January 7, 2026. She is survived by countless former students, colleagues, and dear friends whom she lovingly considered family.
Jude's life journey took her through many places before she settled in Eagle River with her beloved husband, Jim. Over the years, she enjoyed traveling, arts & crafts and her pets, but her true passion was teaching. For more than 40 years, Jude dedicated herself to education, teaching in Illinois and Wisconsin. The majority of her career was spent at Northland Pines School District, where she served as a special education and elementary teacher. Her impact on students was profound and lasting. Mrs. Manzelmann truly made a difference.
In retirement, Jude continued to shape education in her community. She played an integral role in forming the Northland Pines SOAR charter school and served on its first board. She was an inductee of the Northland Pines Alumni Hall of Fame. Her commitment to children extended beyond the classroom as she actively contributed to the early days and growth of the Northwoods Children's Museum.
Jude was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Frank and Dorthea Wiseburn, and her brother Lawrence Wiseburn. She leaves behind many family and friends, including those closest to her: the Mule family-Sam and Kathy Mule and their children and grandchildren-Mike and Patty (Aidan and Brody), John (Landon), Dan & Macbeth-Jason and Becky (Ashlynn and Nick) Boxrucker, Shayne (Todd) Wilfer and her cousins Eric (Pep) and Susan.
A Celebration of Life will be held in late spring or early summer. Details will be shared at a later date.
