Judith Marley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunrise Funeral Home & Crematory - Prescott Valley on Jul. 22, 2025.
Judith Ann Marley, age 85, of Dewey, Arizona was called to her eternal rest on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
She was born September 11, 1939, in Sterling, Colorado as the only child of Calvin P. and Ruby B.
(Muchow) Mahaffey. Judy graduated from Sterling High School Class of 1957 and continued her
education at Colorado State College, Greeley, Colorado. On August 24, 1958, she married Charles
(Chuck) E. Hulse and together they had three children. Following the passing of Charles, Judy remarried
in 1978 to her husband Richard (Dick) Marley, who she was married to for 46 years until her passing.
Judy was an entrepreneur throughout her life, owning and operating several businesses including a Water
Store, Hot Dog Stand, and a Catering Business. She also worked as an Administrative Assistant in the
Construction Industry and for Prescott Valley Police Department, and was a clerk for the Yavapai County
Courthouse. Judy was a very active member of the Lutheran Churches she attended for many years. She
wore many "hats" at God's World Preschool & Child Care located at Trinity Lutheran Church, but the job
Judy was best known for at God's World was "grandma". Judy, along with her husband Dick, also served
as handlers for Titus the Compassion Dog with Lutheran Charities through Trinity.
Judy enjoyed hosting and attending tea parties with friends, eventually joining the Red Hat Ladies but
notably always refusing to wear a hat. She enjoyed playing cards for 50 years with the "Bridge Ladies"
and attending their yearly Christmas party. She felt most fulfilled when caring for others, from hosting
dinner parties for family and friends to cooking up a storm for a church potluck. Judy loved collecting
recipes and cookbooks, of which she would find her mealtime inspiration. She also had a fondness for
small dogs and enjoyed the companionship of Princess, Snickers, and Buffy.
Judy and her husband Dick were Sun Devil Football season ticket holders for over 40 years and enjoyed
tailgating at ASU Football games, attending several Bowl games with their tailgating group. They traveled
in their Motor Home for many years, stopping at numerous sites to see and explore all over the United
States. Their love of RV traveling began with riding a Gold Wing Motorcycle with a pop up tent trailer and
ended with a 38 foot motor home. Judy and Dick enjoyed spending winters in places such as Yuma,
Parker, and their favorite place Lake Havasu, AZ. where they would meet up with family and friends
yearly.
Judy is survived by her husband Dick, her three children: Kathy(John) Prehm of Chicago,IL,
Jennifer(Greg) Barlow of Milford, OH, Greg(Amy)Hulse of Parker, CO, step-sons Troy Marley of Dewey,
AZ and Rick(Cheryl) Bergeron of Jackson, FL; grandchildren who she was very proud of:
Matthew(Jaime)Prehm, Megan Prehm, Michael(Gretchen)Prehm, Nathan(Robin)Littlejohn, Aiden
Davis-Hulse, Thalia and Tania Marley, Krystal Mochan and Alyssa Starner ; great-grandchildren: Ryan
and Ethan Prehm, Calvin, Pryor and Kai Littlejohn; many cousins and life-long friends. She was
predeceased by her parents, Calvin P. and Ruby B. Mahaffey, Charles E. Hulse (spouse) and Brendan
Davis-Hulse (grandson).
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church
with Deacon Mike Floyd officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be greatly appreciated if they were
made in Judy's name to LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Lutheran Church Charities 3020 Milwaukee Ave.

Judy was a very lovely lady, she loved to be apart of the various events that were held at the church, she always had a smile and was happy to be a part of the festivities. She was always so happy to see you and she showed it, I will miss her but know we will meet again, my condolences to the family as they walk this journey of her loss.
