Judith Marquith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home - Oneida on Feb. 25, 2026.
Judith "Judy" Marquith, 84, passed away on February 23, 2026 and has been joyfully reunited with her husband in Heaven. Judy was born on May 19, 1941 in Moline, Illinois to Earl and Virginia Rollins. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1959 and married Milton H. Marquith on July 10, 1959 at the East Galesburg Community Chapel in East Galesburg, Illinois.

Judy was a devoted follower of Christ who faithfully served the church alongside her husband during his more than 40 years as pastor of East Galesburg Community Chapel. Whether organizing chili suppers, planning Vacation Bible School, or quietly tending to countless behind-the-scenes details, she was a meticulous planner and faithful worker. She also served the broader community through weekly volunteer work at the Women's Pregnancy Center and continued crocheting newborn blankets for babies in need late into her life.

Judy enjoyed playing card games, gardening, and taking an annual road trip with Milt to Wyoming each summer. She left behind countless pictures of wildlife and scenery from those trips.

She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away shortly before their 60th wedding anniversary in 2019, her parents, and her sister Connie. She is survived by two daughters, Heidi Marquith-Lyons and Traci (Jack) Frogley; one son, Luke (Kim) Marquith; six grandchildren: Bonnie Lyons (Dustin), Eli (Kaylee) Frogley, Gus (Danielle) Lyons, Jordan Marquith, Ana (Levi) Johnson, and Maggie (Shane) Hubbard; and nine great-grandchildren: Hudson, Mason, Kinsley, Easton, Weston, Delilah, Lillian, Wyatt, and Isaac. She is also survived by her sister Jen Thomason (Ron).

A private interment will take place at the Knoxville Mausoleum in the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. A visitation will not be held. The family kindly requests that floral arrangements not be sent, but instead ask that Judy be honored with your memories, prayers, or charitable contributions to the Women's Pregnancy Center of Galesburg or the Galesburg Rescue Mission. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Compassus caregivers for the kindness and comfort they provided to Judy in her final days.
