Olive Marquith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home - Macon on Jun. 10, 2024.
Olive Ann Marquith, 92, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Macon, Missouri, gained her angel wings on January 16, 2024. Her final days were spent being surrounded by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jerry L. Marquith, their oldest son, Jerry A. Marquith, Sr., and their great grandson, Jerry A. Marquith, III.
Olive Ann is survived by her sons, Rick (Rose) Marquith of Monterey, Tennessee, and Ron (Sandra) Marquith of Riverview, Florida, her daughter, Karen (David) Dobbs of Brookwood, Alabama, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and her special friend, Walter Lovett.
Born in Lewiston, Maine, to Allen J. and Olive N. Thayer, the family later moved to Candia, New Hampshire. Olive Ann graduated from Manchester High School in Manchester, New Hampshire, and from Nashua School of Nursing in Nashua, New Hampshire. She became a registered nurse, and spent her life caring for and taking care of people.
In recent years Olive Ann loved working on crossword puzzles with Walter. She also enjoyed drinking her iced coffee, and she loved to crochet. At one time or another, everyone in her family, including her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, received at least one blanket from her. She enjoyed making baby blankets, prayer shawls, lap blankets, blankets, and baby sweaters.
Above all, Olive Ann loved her family. She was affectionately known as "Nanna" to her grandchildren, their spouses, and her great grandchildren.
Graveside Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held in Macon, Missouri, on June 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery.
