John Ralph Lowe, 94, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Addington Place of Lee's Summit Care Center.
John was born on May 13, 1931, in Macon, MO, the son of Fred Allen and Harriet Lorene (Talbot) Lowe. John enlisted in the United States Airforce in 1950, where he spent most of his service at Greenville Air Force Base in Mississippi. He later married his wife Elizabeth (Bentele) Lowe on September 15th of 1952 in Macon MO until her death in 2021. They were married for 68 wonderful years. After John retired he enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching horse races, and spending many wonderful summers with his granddaughter Karen.
John is survived by one son, Lane Lowe of the Philippines; one brother, Larry Lowe and his wife Martha Ann of east Texas; one sister, Eunice Durden of Macon, MO; good friend, Allen Huff; granddaughter, Karen (Lowe) Hoey and her husband Benjamin Hoey of Lee's Summit MO, along with two great grandsons and many other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth (Bentele) Lowe, his parents, and one son, Scott Lowe.
Memorial service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO. Visitation will be 1:00 pm, until the time of the service, at the funeral home. Inurnment, with full military honors, will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Macon. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Legion Post 14 of Clinton, MO in John's honor.
