Judith Matthews Obituary
Judith A. Matthews, 82, lifelong resident of Farmingdale passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. She was a devoted homemaker who found joy in living in her childhood home and raising her own family within its walls. Judith's life was filled with simple pleasures and meaningful connections. She was a valued member of the First United Methodist Woman's Club, where she served as the past treasurer. Judith had a green thumb and found solace in tending to her garden, cultivating beauty and tranquility in her own backyard. One of Judith's favorite pastimes was gathering with her friends for their weekly Friday afternoon card game. These gatherings brought her laughter and companionship and created cherished memories.
Judith was predeceased by her husband, Carlton F. Matthew. She is survived by her two children, Shelly M. Mcateer and her husband, William of Farmingdale and Carlton E. "Ed" Matthews of Farmingdale; two grandchildren, Melanie Livich and her husband, Ken and Benjamin Matthews; many nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM graveside service on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery, Howell. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Farmingdale, 8 Main Street, PO Box 128 Farmingdale, New Jersey 07727.
