Judith "Judy" Mayo, a beloved teacher and cherished member of her community, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on April 12, 1951, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, Judy was a guiding light in the lives of many and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and students.
Judy dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching English and Religious Education at Lourdes High School in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Her passion for education and commitment to her students were evident in every lesson she shared. She earned her master's degree in counselling from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, further enhancing her ability to support and guide those around her.
On April 20, 1974, Judy married the love of her life, Thomas "Pat" Mayo, and together they built a loving family. Judy's spirit of kindness and community service shone brightly as she led the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) at St. Raphael's Church for over two decades and lovingly assisted with funeral lunches, offering comfort to families in their time of need.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Pat; their children, Peter Mayo and Heather (Jim) Ott; and her precious grandchildren, Joe Mayo, P.J. Mayo, and J.R. Ott, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Ginny (Richard) Goebel and Patty Carey. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Floyd (Fritz) Mueller, as well as her brother-in-law, Scott Carey.
Judy's passion for life, her contagious laughter, and her unwavering faith will be remembered by all who knew her.
A service for Judy will be held at St Raphael, the Archangel parish (830 S Westhaven Dr) on November 29, 2025 at 11 AM. A time of visitation will take place from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Lourdes High School or St. Raphael's Church in Judy's memory.
