Muriel J. Sagmeister,94 of Oshkosh passed away on November 21,2025 at home. Muriel was born on February 15, 1931 in Oshkosh to Norman and Adeline (Phillipson) Altmann. On July 1, 1950 she married Neil M. Sagmeister in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2001.
Muriel graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1949 and was employed as Oshkosh B' Gosh and J. C. Penny Company. She was a lifelong member of Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was past President and Secretary of the Ladies Guild, past President and Secretary of the Oshkosh Public Museum, past President of the 20th Century Club, and member of the Red Hat Club. Muriel was and avid golfer where she was a member of the Lake Shore Ladies Golf Club for over 40 years. She enjoyed counted cross stitch and loved to travel.
Survivors include her two daughters, Ellyn (John) Artz of La Crescent, MN and Peggy (Daniel) Dahlquist of Prior Lake, MN. She has four grandchildren, Andrea (John) Sveen, Joe Artz, Chandler and Peyton Dahlquist and seven greatgrandchildren, Lillian, Viola, Adeline, Sylvia, Heinrich Sveen, Regan and Samuel Artz. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Kay Sagmeister.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday December 2 with visitation at 10 am and service at 11am at Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church (1526 Algoma Blvd) with the Rev. Voss officiating. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Martin Luther Evangelical Church and School would be appreciated.
