Judith Irene McBride, 82, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at Bethany Pointe Nursing Home after a courageous extended illness. She was born on January 16, 1943, to Leonard Cole and Bertha (Lunger) Johnson, Judy was a beloved figure in her community, known for her kind heart and infectious laughter.
For many years, Judy worked in food service for Anderson Community Schools, but she also cherished her time at Deluxe Donuts, where she formed lasting friendships and shared smiles with all her customers. A highlight of her life was her magical partnership with her husband, Timothy McBride. Together, they enjoyed festive roles of Santa and Mrs. Claus for the Indianapolis Colts, with Judy even handcrafting their outfits. Spreading joy and laughter with Tim was a cherished tradition for them.
Judy's creativity shone in everything she did, whether it was making heartfelt handmade gifts for her loved ones or being a supportive girl scout leader during her daughter’s scouting days. Her cooking, especially her chicken and dumplings, was legendary among family and friends, and she loved whipping up homemade treats that brought everyone together.
Judy was a warm, caring, and fun-loving lady who made everyone feel special. Her love for family and pets knew no bounds. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Judy is survived by her children, Donna Allen; Vaughn (spouse, Shelly) McCoy, Debbie (spouse, Randy) Weaver, and Mary (spouse, Tim) Pratt; Step-Children, Brian McBride and Andy (spouse, Melissa) McBride; Siblings, Sharon Lee Colvin, JoAnn Johnson, Robert Belden, and Thayer Belden; Grandchildren, Jon, Wyatt, Jordan, Evan, Austin, Jayson, Josh, Jeremy, Scotty, Sunday, Dylan, Ryan, Mandy, and Heather; She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Bethany Pointe for their love and care of their mother, Judy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, two husbands, and a son, Mike Faught.
Visitation will take place from 4:00pm - 6:00pm on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.
