Janet H. Branch, 89, of Anderson, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 12, 1936, to William and Katherine (Abrams) Howard, Janet was a proud graduate of Anderson High School. She found her soulmate in Gerald Edward Branch, and together they created a life filled with love and joy.
Janet was not only a devoted wife but also a dedicated homemaker, putting her heart and soul into caring for her family. She was a cherished member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, where she participated actively, including singing in the church choir and helping with various activities. Her family was one of the first to join the church when it opened, which speaks to her strong sense of community.
Known for her incredible cooking, Janet loved hosting family dinners that brought everyone together. Her family meant everything to her, especially her grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye.
Janet is survived by her husband, Jerry Branch; Children, Lisa (Robert) Wells, Mark (Debra) Branch and Lora Branch; One sister, Pat (Bill) Hollingsworth; Grandchildren, Heidi (Nate) Carlton, Lee Branch, Jaime Branch, Joel Moore, and Ethan Branch, and several other grandchildren that meant the world to her; Great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Brandon, Nathan, Braxton, Miles and Charlotte; and Cousin, Sandy (Stan) Hurt. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents; One son, Jerry Kyle Branch; One grandson, Neil Branch; and Two sisters, Barbara Bacot and Joyce Whitehead.
In honor of Janet's life and legacy, a visitation will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 119 E 36th St, Anderson, IN 46013. A memorial service will follow visitation starting at 1:00pm with Pastor Dennis Zirkle officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at East Maplewood Cemetery.
