Judith Levering Neale

Judith Levering Neale, 84, of Wilmington, N.C. passed away August 3, 2022. She was born on December 31, 1937, in Glenside, PA to Charles and Mary (Ahern)
Levering. She is predeceased by her sister, Barbara Blank.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert S. Neale; son, David Neale and wife, Jennifer; son, Steven Neale and wife, Deborah; and daughter, Cheryl Maslow
and husband, Thomas. She had four beloved grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Judy raised her family in Ossining, N.Y. for 25 years, before moving with her husband, Robert to Wilmington in 1986, where she was an active member of the community. She was a volunteer at heart, and began offering her time and talents to the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) in her early years in Wilmington. However, Judy's true love was for animals, and began advocating for their welfare as a member of the animal control advisory board. Judy then moved on to the New Hanover County Humane Society, first working on their newsletter, then as a recording secretary for the Board, and finally as president. She was part of a core group of volunteers who served the organization for over 20 years.
Judy often brought her work home with her, resulting in adoptions of her last three dogs. Over the years she also brought comfort to residents of local nursing
homes by visiting with her gentle collie, Kitty.
There will be a private remembrance with family only.
