Judith Okerstrom Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels - Glen Haven Chapel on Dec. 23, 2023.
Okerstrom, Judith C.
Age 78, passed away December 21, 2023. Judy was born in Graceville, MN and graduated from Robbinsdale High School. Her career started at Display Masters in New Hope, MN. Her and Rollyn briefly owned The Dew Drop Inn in Coram, MT before she worked as an account executive at the Saint Cloud Convention and Visitors Bureau. She also received her cosmetology license and worked part-time as a stylist at City Hairstylists in Minneapolis. She loved being around people, volunteered for many organizations and was a member of the Saint Cloud Kiwanis Club.
Judy was the happiest when she was with family. She was the youngest of eight children. She married Rollyn in 1971, they have 3 children: Deana, Tara, and Andrew, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Family traditions were very important to her and she made every celebration special. Many have already reached out to the family with memories of her great sense of humor and love of jokes and puns.
For the last four years, Judy has lived at The Trails of Orono Assisted Living and Memory Care. The staff there became her extended family and we are grateful for the love and attention they gave her.
Preceded in death by parents, Amelia Rose (Marty) and Lennard Othmer Gustavson; siblings, Lennice Linhart, Betty Ihlan, DeVern "Bud" Gustavson, Marcita Cook, Robert Gustavson, and Barbara DeVito.
Survived by husband of 52 years, Rollyn; daughters, Deana (Neil) Martin and Tara (Steve) Arrell; son, Andrew (Joanne) Okerstrom; grandchildren, Aaron and Jason Weyer, Dylan, Max, Tony, and Zoey Arrell, Lillian Okerstrom; great-grandchild, Dylan Arrell, Jr.; and brother, James (Gloria) Gustavson; many other relatives and friends.
Judy's burial will be the day before her service on January 4, 2024 at 11 AM at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope, MN.
