Judith M. Profit, 81, of Cass City, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 in Medilodge of Cass City. She was born May 21, 1944 in Bad Axe to George Anthony and Sarah Louise (Ducharme) Ignash. She married Edward Allen Profit on February 2, 1969 in Las Vegas. He died October 14, 2024.
Judy graduated in 1962 from Laker High School. She was a health care aid and worked for Provencial Health, Slade House Assisted Living, and retired from the state hospital in Mt. Pleasant. Judy loved reading mystery books and watching Hallmark television shows. She was a fan of all the Detroit sports teams. Every year, during the Kentucky Derby, Judy planned an all-day event that consisted of a picnic and cheering on favorite horses. She was a former member of the Hills and Dales Hospital Auxiliary and Cass United Methodist Church.
Judy is survived by her children: Scott (Vickey) Profit of Midland, Suzie (Wes) Gregg of OR; William J. Profit II of Toledo, OH; Connie (Duane) Kruse of Caro; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brothers: Anthony Ignash of Pigeon, Jerry (Tonda) Ignash of Bullhead City, AZ; David (Kathy) Ignash of Pigeon. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, step-daughter, Marilyn Profit. Judy’s family would like to extend a thank you to Medilodge staff and residents, as well as, a special thank you to Cindy Kruse and Kathy Kruse for the extra compassion and care that they gave to Judy.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Friday January 2, 2026 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, funeral celebrant officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be made to Aspire Hills & Dales Hospital Auxiliary, Rawson Memorial Library, or Cass City United Methodist Church.
