Judith Mae "Judy" Rietel

Judith "Judy" Mae Rietel, age 79, of Cloverdale, Indiana, passed away on January 6, 2026. She was born on September 17, 1946, in Kokomo, Indiana, to the late Tom Nelson and Helen (Thomlinson) Nelson.
Judy dedicated over 35 years of service at Wave Tech, a company later acquired by Raytheon, where she contributed to military manufacturing operations. Her strong work ethic and quiet resilience earned her deep respect among colleagues.
A woman of warmth and generosity, Judy especially cherished her time at Hickory Hills Campground, where she formed many lasting friendships. She had a deep love for cooking-both watching her favorite cooking shows and preparing meals for loved ones. Above all, she found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, treasuring every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Louis Rietel Jr.; her children, Donnie (Cheryl) Davis, Mike (Suzann) Davis, and Matthew (Lisa) Davis; grandchildren, Josh, Matthew, Paige, Emily, Chloe, Austin Fugit, Michael, Heather, Nicholas, and Nathan; and fourteen great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Chuck and Joyce.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Judy's life on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis.
Judy will be remembered for her kind heart, joyful spirit, and deep devotion to family.
She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
