Judith Riggins Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Judith "Judy" Kathryn (Hansen) Riggins, age 81, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025. Born in Cashton on September 10, 1943, she was the daughter of Marie (Leuck) and Conrad Hansen.
Judy graduated from Cashton High School in 1961, where she was a gifted musician, playing both oboe and bassoon. Her talent earned her a place at the Wisconsin State Solo Ensemble, and she once had the honor of meeting John F. Kennedy-a memory she cherished throughout her life.
Judy pursued a career in healthcare, graduating from the St. Francis School of Radiology in La Crosse in 1963. She worked in Wausau before spending 25 years at Klasinski Clinic. She later served as a supervisor in Marshfield and continued her work at St. Michael's Hospital until her retirement in 2008.
On April 24, 1965, Judy married Ronald Riggins. Though they later parted ways, they shared 28 years together and raised three children: Andrew (Sarabeth Hahner) Riggins (New Glarus), William (Darien) Riggins (Madison), and Sarah (Daniel) Topp (Tomah). She was a proud grandmother to Taryn and Connor King, and Daine, Ella, and Ava Riggins.
Judy was preceded in death by her brothers Jerome and Donald Hansen, and sisters Elaine Schleichert, Margaret McKnight, and Mary Weber. She is survived by her sisters Ruth Dolan and Jeanne Marie Goody.
A gifted watercolor artist and passionate gardener, Judy found joy in creating beauty both indoors and out. She also worked with fiber arts and gave generously of her time, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and supporting her community with quiet dedication.
Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and service lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
