Judith Shea Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCulla Funeral Home on Dec. 17, 2025.
Judith Lee Shea, passed away on December 16, 2025, at Morgantown Healthcare Center, in her hometown in Morgantown, WV. Born on November 2, 1942, in the same community to Orville Rhodes and Mary Bartko Rhodes, Judy's life was a testament to the love and resilience instilled in her roots.
Judy's warmth and nurturing spirit came to light early in her career as she served her community as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) while residing in the sunny state of Florida. Her dedication to the well-being of others was a thread woven throughout her life, touching countless hearts along the way.
Infusing every moment with her passion for the coast, Judy reveled in the joys of beach life, from feeling the sand between her toes to the thrill of discovering and collecting unique sea shells along the shore. These simple pleasures were threads in the fabric of her years spent in Florida, memories cherished by all who were fortunate enough to share in these seaside adventures with her.
After delighting in her love of thrifting, Judy's later years were enriched by card games shared with her sisters and friends. The echoes of these happy times remain, bringing smiles to those who remember her playful competitiveness and joy for life.
Judy's legacy of love continues through her beloved daughter, Tammy Wiese of Florida; her adoring grandchildren, Richie Wiese of Florida, and Nicole Seymour of Maryland; and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Janet Lemons of Florida and JoAnn McCulla of Westover, who share in their sister's story with fondness and pride.
Predeceased by her loving parents, her devoted husband Larry Shea, her dear son David Shea, and her sister Edith Switzer, Judy's reunion with them is envisioned as a heartfelt continuation of stories, laughter, and the familial love that she so treasured.
Family and friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Rd., Westover, on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 11 am until the funeral service begins at noon with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Judy will be laid to rest at the West Virginia National Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com
