Judith Rasco Squires (Judy), 83, of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
Judy was born in Meridian, MS, on November 4, 1939, to the late James and Kate Rasco. She was an only child. Judy is survived by her three loving children, Susan O'Connor of Hiram, GA, Laurie Miller of Jasper, GA, and Alan (Anniece) Squires of Woodstock, GA. She had six grandchildren, Ryan (Caity) and Evan (Laura) O'Connor, Christine and Andrew Miller, Melissa (Roman) Grier and Michael (Ashley) Squires. She also had 4 great grandchildren, Harrison and Quinn Grier and Hainsley and Brynleigh Squires.
Judy went to Flora-McDonald College in North Carolina and also graduated from Kennesaw State College with a degree in Social Services. She was a "faithful servant" of God who truly lived what she believed. She was a devout Christian and was a charter member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Marietta, GA. Judy was a kind, compassionate and selfless person to everyone she met. Her highest priorities were her family, whom she loved dearly, and her faith and dedication to her church.
Judy served many roles at Covenant Presbyterian Church and loved religious music, most especially traditional Christian Hymns. She used her musical talent to minister to others by participating as the pianist, organist, and a member of the hand bell choir. She also served as the Director of Christian Education, a Sunday School teacher, Youth Group leader, and Vacation Bible School leader. Her love for helping others and working for non-profit groups was displayed throughout her career at Lifespan Resources where she was passionate about working with Alzheimer's patients and their families. She went on to serve as Executive Director at Senior Services North Fulton by providing assistance and care to Seniors where she retired. In the early days while raising her family she taught piano lessons from her home.
Judy loved to watch football and looked forward to the football season every year. Her favorite teams were the Georgia Bulldogs and the Ole Miss Rebels. She also enjoyed reading her daily devotional, scriptures, and all kinds of books.
While we grieve for our loss, Judy left the greatest gift to her family and friends knowing we will see her again.
