Judith Gowan Taylor of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the age of 79. She was born in Spartanburg, SC on November 14, 1945 to the late Dupre Edward and Virginia Hammett Gowan, and was the widow of Kenneth E. Taylor.

After graduating from Chesnee High School, Judi worked in the medical field and became a Certified Medical Assistant. She spent over 30 years dedicated to her patients and retired in 2013. She faithfully attended Fairforest Baptist Church where she taught 3rd Grade Sunday School, 4th Grade Bible School, and was an active choir member. Judi loved spending time in the mountains, especially Pigeon Forge, TN. Her greatest joy was the time spent with her family. She was truly a devoted Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Ron E. Taylor (Kathy) and LouEllen T. Speer (Robert); grandchildren, Brandon Taylor (Jordyn), Zach Taylor, Amber Speer (Shane), Stephen Medford, Alex Speer (Kailey), Adam Medford (Damara), and Ashley Speer; sister, Mary Gowan Moore (Ed); and 22 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Judi was predeceased by her sister, Joye Elaine Gowan.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 25, 2025 in Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery, 115 Church St, Spartanburg, SC 29301.

In memory of Judi, contributions may be made to American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or to The University of Tennessee Companion Animal Memorial Fund, 2621 Morgan Circle Drive, Knoxville, TN 37996.
