Judith Marie Weets, age 78, of Sabula, IA, passed away February 22, 2024 peacefully at her home at 911 Lake Street, Sabula, IA. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, February 29th, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sabula.
Judy was born February 1, 1946, in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Ralph and Edna (Comstock) Woodhurst. She attended Sabula schools, graduating from 8th Grade and later completed her High School Equivalency Diploma on May 06, 1994. Judy has worked at Products Unlimited and lived in Sabula most all of her life and was a well known friend to all. Most notable as a fan of "The Island City Surprise" along with her best friends, Mary Nelson and Darlene Tietjens, recently nicknamed "The Ladies of Lake Street". When she wasn't working, Judith enjoyed gardening and taking care of her yard. She loved the beautiful view of the lake from her home.
She was a Loving Mother to three Sons, and Grandmother to six Grandchildren, who loved her dearly. Raising her three boys was one of her greatest joys. God and family were the centerpieces of her life.
She will be dearly missed by her Sons, Lonnie Weets USN Retired, of Jacksonville, FL, Lennie (Carolyn) Weets, of Sabula, IA, Lance (Katrina Lehmkuhl) Weets, of Sabula, IA; Grandchildren, Jerle Jo Black, Lonnie Dakota Weets, Brayden Phillip Weets, Cody James Weets, Alex Marie Weets, and Shaylee Tarah Wild; only surviving Sister, Ann (Lloyd) Haas, of Rockford, IL; and her best buddy, Jack the dog.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Edna; three brothers; Raymond Woodhurst,
William Woodhurst, Edward Woodhurst; two sisters; Ella (Lester) Rittmer, Sabula, IA and Kay Gehl, Clinton, IA.
