Judy Catherine Wilhelm
February 23, 1987 – August 23, 2025
Judy Catherine (Hayden) Wilhelm passed away peacefully surrounded by her family following a long and courageous battle with dementia, August 23, 2025.
Judy was born in Tacoma, Washington February 23, 1945. She was raised in Seattle by her parents Richard and Eleanor Hayden.
Judy graduated in 1963 from Holy Angels High School in Ballard.
She was also a proud registered member of the Little Shell Chippewa Tribe.
Throughout her life, Judy dedicated herself to service and community. She was a volunteer for the Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce and the US Forest Service for several years, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, kindness and commitment to others.
Above all else, Judy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be remembered for her love of family, her warm heart and her ability to brighten any room with her presence.
She is survived by her loving husband Wayne Wilhelm; her brothers, Bill Holland (Pam), Michael Holland, and Pat Holland; and her sisters Vera Yurisich (Ric) and Becky Holland. She was preceded in death by her brothers Patrick Hayden (Mary Ann), David Holland (Nadine) and Earl Holland (Kathy) as well as her sister Linda Campos.
She is also survived by her children: Daughter Kellie (Hughes) Anderson, son Scott Hughes (Tammy), son Michael Straw-Hughes (Christopher); stepdaughter Laurie Wilhelm and stepson Michael Wilhelm who preceded her in death; Grandchildren: Chantal Hughes, Madison Hughes Wilhelm, Kenny Thomas, Kyle Sitherwood (Cassie), Josh Sitherwood, Chandy McGoff, Krissy Wilhelm, Tara Ditto, Michael (Stryder) Wilhelm Jr.
She also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who brought her immense joy and who will forever cherish her memory.
Judy's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to her granddaughter Krissy Wilhelm, for the many years of devoted love, patience and kindness she gave so generously. They are also especially thankful to her niece Teresa Umbehocker (Ken) and nephew Andy Duncan (Maria) for their love and support.
Judy's spirit will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed yet forever remembered with love.
Judy knew about the donations being made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, and she was deeply proud to be part of the fight to end Alzheimer's. Her strength and courage continue to inspire us. In her honor, we carry on that mission - raising funds and walking together at the Alzheimer's Walk on October 4th in Seattle. We will walk with love, gratitude, and pride, remembering Judy every step of the way. For more information, please reach out to her son, Michael.
