Judy Armon

Judith A. Armon, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023. Family and friends will gather from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Cedar Rapids (use the 17th Street entrance). Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, John (Kelly) Armon, Dohn (Angie) Armon, and Danelle (Scott) Hill; grandchildren, Aidan, Chloe, Rhea, Ava, Tierney, Austin, and Lindsay; great-grandson, Jasper; brother, Mark (Chris) Milner; her cat, Carmella; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Judy was born on February 5, 1935, the daughter of Bernice Hennessey and Roland Milner. She was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Cedar Rapids. On June 18, 1955, she married Dohn Armon. Judy worked in healthcare, retiring after 26 years with Linn County Anesthesiologists, where she was a scheduler.
She was known to many as Grandma Judy because of her giving and nurturing nature. Judy played an important role in shaping the lives of many children and young adults. She was always ready to provide a safe space, a meal, and hugs to those in need. Judy enjoyed playing Bridge, volunteering with Gems of Hope, camping, and cheering for the Hawkeyes. She also volunteered for a short while holding the babies in the Mercy NICU. Her family will miss the many holidays at her house where Judy loved to cook and entertain.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Dohn, daughter, Debbi Norvell; mother, Bernice Milner, and step-father, Roland Milner.
