Judy U Baker

Judy U. Baker, age 85, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. Judy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Earl; son, Bryan of Statesville, NC and his wife Dana; daughters, Logan and Alley. She is also survived by brothers, Ted Upchurch and wife Judy, Randy Upchurch and wife Amy, of the Pearces Community; and nephew, Caleb Upchurch. She is predeceased by her brother, Jimmy Upchurch of Knightdale, NC.
Judy was born on November 2, 1939 to the late Nathaniel and Louise Upchurch of the Pearces Community. She graduated from Bunn High School and then attended Hardbargers Business School in Raleigh.
Judy was a member of the Circle of Friends Book Club for over 25 years in Durham where she enjoyed meeting with her friends on rotating monthly visits in the homes of the members. She was also an active member of Grey Stone Church and was a camera operator in the A/V operation for approximately 20 years.
An outstanding part of her life was the association with her neighbors, Mike and Donna Zimmerman and their sons, Michael, Tyler and Nelson. Over the years they were a constant ray of sunshine in her life.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 1st at Grey Stone Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Zebulon Town Cemetery.
