Judy Bertolini Obituary

Judy Bertolini passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on December 12, 2025 from complications of Parkinson's disease. She was born in Bay City, Michigan in 1943 as the fourth of five children to Walter and Anna Pentkowski. Her family soon left Michigan for the sunny climate of the Arizona desert where she spent most of her childhood. At the age of 16 her family moved to Sebastopol where she graduated St. Vincent High School in Petaluma in 1961.

For 22 years she was married to Lou Bertolini and they made their home in Santa Rosa. She was a great support to him through the early years as he, together with his brother Larry Bertolini, built Western Farm Center, the well-known pet and agricultural business in Railroad Square, into the thriving enterprise it is today now run by the next generation.

Alas, her soul yearned to roam and in 1990 she moved to England where she enjoyed the many walking paths of the Cotswolds, Lake District, Cornwall, Dorset coast, and on. She lived there until 2007 when she decided to return to California and be a grandmother to her lovely twin granddaughters.

Many thanks to the wonderful staff of Brookdale Paulin Creek Assisted Living who were excellent caregivers to her for the past few years, along with the compassionate care of Suncrest Hospice. Together, they gave her a dignified end in her cheerful apartment.

She was laid to rest at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Santa Rosa on Christmas Eve morning in the presence of her loving family. She was preceded in death by her brothers Gene and Edward Pentkowski, and her sister Barbara Pentkowski Pilegaard. She is survived by her brother Charles Pentkowski, daughter Maria Bertolini Frampton, son-in-law Trevor Frampton, granddaughters Jenna and Sarah, and many nieces and nephews.
