Mrs. Judy Carolyn Fain Goins Bowman, 73, of Meadows of Dan, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, December 29, 2025, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, with family and friends by her bedside. Mrs. Bowman was born July 8, 1952, in Patrick County, VA, one of sixteen children born to the late Leonard John and Myrtle Sarah Edwards Fain. Judy retired from Hanesbrands following many years of dedicated service and was a faithful and devoted member of Blue Ridge Tabernacle. She was a loving mother and grandmother who found great joy in cooking and canning, and she delighted in sharing the fruits of her labor with others. Judy never missed an opportunity to share her love of the Lord and her faith with everyone she met. She is survived by two sons, Kevin Goins (Becky) and Jason Goins; two stepdaughters, Amanda Hill (Preston) and Tracey Hopkins (Ernest); several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four sisters, Delphia Wall, Ruby Sheppard (Joel), Brenda Wilkey, and Linda Hill (Edward); four brothers, Arlis Fain, Burton Fain (Vicky), Carl Fain (Linda), and Harold Fain; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Wanda Dillard. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Gray Goins; her second husband, John Thomas Bowman; three sisters, Della Young, Dorothy Fain, and Doris Nunn; and four brothers, Albert Fain, Bruce Fain, William Fain, and Wayne Fain. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Bro. George Lambert officiating. A private interment will follow in the Bowman Family Cemetery in Meadows of Dan, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Tabernacle, P.O. Box 622, Stuart, VA 24171.
