Judy Ann Hughes, 84, of Franklin Grove, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehab, Franklin Grove, IL. She worked for the Tri County Opportunities Council for many years prior to her retirement.
Judy was born, July 20, 1941, in Mankato, MN, the daughter of Jess and Martha (Kangas) Walters. She married Kenneth "Ken" Hughes on March 4, 1967, in Duluth, MN. He preceded her in death on October 06, 2024. She enjoyed listening to audio books, was a member of the Sauk Computer User Group at Whiteside County Senior Center and loved spending time with her family.
Judy is survived by her two daughters, Rachel E. Hughes of Verona, VA, Heidi (Nathaniel) Hughes Palmer of Post Falls, ID; two grandchildren, Scarlett, Ivy; two sisters, Gloria (Tom Starkey) Walters, Eileen Walters; brother, Jim (Mayme) Walters; one sister-in-law, Bonnie (Jerry) Walters and many nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jerry Walters, Ralph Walters, and David Walters.
A Celebration of Life Open House will take place from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Loveland Community House, 513 W 2nd St, Dixon, IL 61021. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be directed to Granny Rose Animal Shelter.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
