Judy Ann Joyner

Judy Ann Calloway Joyner, 79, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away peacefully at home on November 15, 2025. Born on September 12, 1946, in Dothan, Alabama she was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother, and sibling.

Judy moved to Tallahassee, Florida from Jacksonville, Florida in 1970 with her husband Perry Joyner. She attended college at Tallahassee Community College where she earned an Associate in Arts degree. Afterward she worked for the Florida State University Attorney's Office and then worked as the Judicial Assistant to the late United States District Judge William Stafford until she retired.

Judy was passionate about her faith, gardening, the study of history and politics, her Atlanta Braves (yes, even in the bad years), and loved spending her time at the beach. She was well known for her love for her family, her sense of humor, her hospitality, her kindness, and her cooking.

She is survived by her husband Perry Joyner of Tallahassee, her daughter Danielle Joyner Kelley and son-in-law Brian Kelley of Tallahassee, her five grandchildren: Hayden Kelley, Bryson Kelley, Jordynn Kelley, Eden Kelley, and Dawson Kelley, all of Tallahassee, and her sister Jamie Calloway Kelleher of Tallahassee. She was preceded in death by her parents, the Reverend Hermon Calloway and Mary Calloway of Dothan, Alabama, and her sister Jeanette Childs of Panama City, Florida.

A service to celebrate Judy's life will be held at Bevis Funeral Home at 200 John Knox Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32303 on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at https://www.alz.org
