Tim graduated from Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, FL. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Army to follow in his grandfather's footsteps and serve our country. He was stationed in Kuwait, earning the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals. While in the military, he installed and performed maintenance on fiber optic cable systems. After serving for 3 years and upon being honorably discharged, he returned to civilian life to work as a correctional officer and then as an electrician with his dad until receiving full disability from the Army. Tim loved being with his son Brantley, who was the light of his life. His abiding and deep Christian faith sustained him, he was passionate about basketball, and he had a fervent love for animals, especially his dog, Pepe.
Tim is survived by his son Brantley Meeks of South Carolina; his parents Timmy and Millie Meeks of Tallahassee, FL; his maternal grandfather, Robert Butler of Gallatin, TN; three sisters, Jessica Davis (Neil Davis) of Blountstown, FL; Catherine Samosky (Jason Samosky) of Perry, FL; and Crystal Meeks of Tallahassee, FL; three nieces, Autumn Jefferson, Caylee Simmons, and Raelyn Davis; two nephews, Cayden Hill and Hunter Simmons; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virginia L. Butler, Lois Watson Meeks Baker, Charles Goodrich, and his beloved dog, Pepe Meeks.
Viewing will be held Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. and Monday, November 24 from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at Bevis Funeral Home in Tallahassee, FL. Funeral services will be held at Bevis Funeral Home on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christian Kenon, Patrick Meeks, Joseph Meeks, Matt Carter, James William Garrett III, and Hayden White. Eric Lucci will be an honorary pallbearer.
Memorial donations may be made to your favorite animal shelter, animal rescue, or Veterans group of your choice in Tim's memory. Todd Wahlquist is assisting the family with their arrangements (850-385-2193, www.bevisfh.con).
