Judy Cooper Kirk, 83, of Piedmont, South Carolina, wife of the late George M. Kirk, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
Born on February 2, 1942, in Greenville County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Ennese and Ollie Smith Cooper. Judy was a warm and nurturing soul who devoted her life to uplifting those around her. For 32 dedicated years, Judy served as the School Cafeteria Manager for Anderson School District One, where she became a familiar and loving presence at Concrete Primary School and Wren Elementary School. Her unwavering commitment to providing healthy and delicious meals enriched the lives of countless children and staff members alike, leaving an indelible mark on the community. Having graduated from Wren High School, she carried her passion for service into a career that was filled with joy and fulfillment. Judy was far more than her career; she was the heart of her family. Known for her exceptional cooking skills, she had a unique ability to bring everyone together around the dinner table, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her flower garden was a reflection of her spirit, vibrant, nurturing, and full of life. Judy found joy in tending to her yardwork and embracing the beauty of the outdoors, all while ensuring her home was a warm sanctuary for her loved ones. Most importantly, Judy cherished her time spent with family. As a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she cultivated a home filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support. Her nurturing personality endeared her to many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Kirk of Napa, California; a daughter, Renee Sanders (Jimmy) of Piedmont, South Carolina; a brother, Jackie Cooper (Carol) of Powdersville, South Carolina; two sisters, Ramona Wyatt of Powdersville, South Carolina, and Deloris Garrett of Easley, South Carolina; and two grandchildren, Mackenzie Sanders and Jared Sanders (Cariss).
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 10, 2025, in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, www.michaeljfox.org.
