Judy Kay Melenbrink

MELENBRINK, Judy Kay (Hammel) – of Lapeer, MI, age 78, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025. A Graveside Service will be held 1 PM Monday, November 24, 2025 at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Davison, MI; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Judy's memory. Your generosity and support are deeply appreciated during this time.
Judy was born in Lapeer, MI on October 29, 1947, daughter of the late Leon and Nita (Saxton) Hammel. Judy was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1966. On May 13, 1972, Judy married Edward Melenbrink at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison, MI. Judy continued to be a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she found strength and purpose in her faith. Judy loved spending time with her family. Bowling was one of her favorite pastimes, but it was the holidays that she treasured most-times when her home was filled with laughter and the simple joys she held dear.
Judy is survived by her husband, Edward Melenbrink; 2 children, Ed Melenbrink and Ann Guzman; 5 grandchildren, Marshall Wilkes, Lance Melenbrink, Acacia Melenbrink, Gracie Melenbrink and Sabrina Edwards; 6 siblings, Dale Hammel, Art Hammel, Leroy Hammel, Shirley Hammel, Vernita Hammel and Karen Chadwick; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Nita Hammel; 3 siblings, Kevin Hammel, William Hammel and Earl Hammel.
