Judy Carol (Sullivan-Ford) Miles, age 82 of Eastwood, Ky passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025. She was born in Flat Rock, Indiana on December 4, 1942, to Lloyd (Bud) Sullivan and Beatrice Stacy Ford (formerly Sullivan). After her parents remarried, she was blessed to also have loving stepparents, Francis Sullivan, and James Emmett Ford who loved and cherished her and raised her as his own. Judy was a life long member of Long Run Baptist church. She was a homemaker for many years as she raised her three children. She later sold real estate for Clore and Duncan and Coldwell Banker McMahan. She eventually retired to spend more time with her family, and travel with her husband and friends.
Judy married the love of her life, Charles (Tom) Miles on June 25, 1960. After raising their family they enjoyed their month-long vacations to Panama City Beach for over 20 years where they made many life long friends, as well as taking various other trips with friends and family throughout the years.
Judy was a loving wife, mother, mimi, mamaw, sister, and friend. She selflessly always put her family’s needs first. She was a loving big sister to Vickie, Joyce and Sue (who she could usually be found with and known as her “partner in crime”). She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who she loved fiercely. Her presence will always be felt in their hearts. She was an avid reader, who also loved the Holidays, especially Christmas. She was a great cook and spent hours each Christmas making cookies for friends and family. We will miss her birthday cakes with homemade icing, her chicken and dumplings, potato soup, and of course her turkey dressing, amongst other things. The Eastwood community will also never forget her sitting on her porch in her Ghost costume each Halloween to entertain the neighborhood kids.
Judy was known for her positivity and love of life. It was easy to have fun with her just talking on the phone, shopping, or riding in the car. She was a Christian who led her life by example. She loved everyone regardless of their differences. She was never judgmental and was always open minded yet remained firm on her beliefs. She was loved by her daughters for all of these things more than she will ever know. She was a “second mother” and dear friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her but will never be forgotten.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles (Tom) Miles; and her daughter, Linda Bush; as well as her brother, Junnie Ford; and step-brother, Charles Meal.
Judy is survived by her daughters Robin Carroll (Scott) and Wendy Whitehead (Roger), 8 grandchildren; Paul Whitehead (Cheryl), Amanda Childress, Allie Thompson, Corey Bush (Traci), Brandon Carroll (Ashley), Brittney Dempley (Ryan), Samantha Whitehead, and Maggie Whitehead, and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Sue Riddle, Joyce Marshall (Bill), and Vickie Decker (Doug). She is also survived by her sweet Bichon Addie who she loved and adored.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Baptist Health 5 North and the Palliative Care Unit for all of their loving care.
Visitation will be from 2pm to 8pm on Monday, October 27, 2025 and also from 9am to 11am on Tuesday, October 28th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A celebration of Judy's life and legacy will be 11am Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Middletown Historic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation or Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer awareness.
