Ms. Judy McMullan Mitchell, 66, of Smyrna, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at her residence.
Judy was born in Elberton on April 27, 1958, daughter of Marion Jefferson McMullan and Carolyn Edwards McMullan. A woman of vibrant spirit and boundless love, Judy was known for her deep affection for her family, her passion for horses, and her ability to light up every room she entered. Her warmth and kindness made everyone she met feel like a friend, and her love for life was contagious.
Surviving, in addition to her parents are her children: Harrison Mitchell and his wife Mandi of Smyrna, GA and Ashley MacDonald and her husband Bryan of Greenville, SC; brother, Steve McMullan of Elberton: and her treasured grandsons, Rowan Mitchell, Jesse Mitchell, William “Mac” MacDonald, and Finnegan MacDonald. Judy’s family was the center of her life, and she found joy in every moment spent with them.
Memorial services celebrating Judy’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 12, at 3:00 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Burial will be private in Elmhurst Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 2:00-2:45p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Elberton at 132 Heard Street, Elberton, GA 30635 or contributions may be made in Judy’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
