Judy Nelson Obituary

Judy spent her whole life as an educator. She was a teacher then became the principal of Savannah Christian School and then the director of Sylvan Learning Center. Judy was also a Charter Member of White Bluff United Methodist Church. She loved to spend time with her granddaughters and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eustace and Georgia Carter.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Carl Manson Nelson; sons, Carl Manson Nelson, Jr. and Bruce Jacob Nelson (Ava); granddaughters, Audrey Hauser (Chris) and Casey Butler (Chris); great-grandchild, Bailey Hauser; sister, Randee Powell (Richard); brother, Cliff Carter (Jonette); and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral to honor her life will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial following at Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Savannah at P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.

Judy was the director of the Savannah Sylvan Learning Center when I purchased it in 1998. She loved her job and her students. It is impossible to calculate how many lives she had a positive influence on. I will always appreciate her skills as an educator and center director.
