Judy Stambough Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Paye Memorial Funeral & Cremation Care on Oct. 15, 2023.

Judy Marie Norris Stambough, daughter of the late William Javie and Martha Etta Norris was born March 5, 1951, in Marion, SC. At a young age her family relocated, and she received her formal education in the public schools of Fayetteville, North Carolina. She attended Church of God of Prophecy on Legion Road. In 1975, she began to attend New Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Massey Hill, under the pastorate of the late Corrie & Gertrude Anders. Judy was a hands-on individual and put her talents to work. She was instrumental in starting the Audio Ministry, sang on the Adult Choir, taught the Nursery Class for Sunday School, and ushered. One of her favorite areas of ministry was Vacation Bible School. She also served in other areas of ministry, whatever was needed. She later relocated and attended New Covenant Baptist Church in Hope Mills, North Carolina.

Judy’s longtime hobby of sewing and crocheting became her lifetime occupation. She was employed with A+ Home Health Care Services as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA). She also worked at Village Baptist Church School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, adoringly called Joe. They were joined in holy matrimony on August 21, 1966. Judy was a devoted and loving wife and to this union were born three children.

Although gone from this present world, she will never be forgotten, and her memories will continue to be in the hearts of her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memories are: one daughter, Dawn Boyce McSwain; two sons, Timothy Stambough of the home, and Rodney Stambough of Grays Creek; six grandchildren, DeAnna Boyce Riddick, DeMarcus Boyce, Emily Boyce, Keyana Boyce, Travis Stambough and Brittney Stambough; Fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Norris of Macon, GA and Lonnie Norris of Tigard, OR; one sister, Betty Lou Butler of Marion, SC; all her extended family; special friends, Rev. Dr. Alphonse Turner, Jr. and Roberta Turner, Katie Carroll, Eloise Dudley (Brown Sugar), Ben Franklin, Carolyn Anders and Mary Anders. She loved her little girls, Adrian Richardson Pearson, Shancii Brown, and Charity Swinney.
