Mrs. Judy Herring Stevens, 78, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Piedmont Northside Hospital in Columbus, GA.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon EST Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stevens was born April 26, 1947 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Talmedge Herring and Annie Hagler Herring. Down through the years she worked for Bibb Mill, Jay Pontiac and finally retired from Buffalo Rock with over 10 years of service. Mrs. Stevens enjoyed cooking and watching the Hallmark channel and any game show she could find. However, her passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a former member of Pierce Chapel Assembly of God, where she played the piano and sang for many years. Mrs. Stevens also played and sang in a family gospel group, the Surveyors, for many years. More recently, she attended Grace Freewill Baptist.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard W. Stevens and a brother, Mark Herring.
Mrs. Stevens is survived by a daughter, Shannon Tomlin and husband Mark, two sons, Shawn Stevens and Shane Stevens; a brother, Ron Herring; grandchildren, Dylan Tomlin (Katey), Ashley Stevens, Cesley Stevens, Caroline Stevens and Alexis Stevens; great-grandchildren, Riley and Tripp; as well as several extended family members and friends.
