Judy May Sweatt, a cherished soul, was born on September 11, 1945, in
Selmer, Tennessee, to the beloved parents Carthell and Maggie Emily Kernodle May.
With deep love and devotion, she was united in marriage to Jerry Sweatt on May 6, 1961. Their bond was a beautiful journey that continued until Jerry's passing on October 4, 2024.
Throughout her life, Judy dedicated herself to her work, first making a mark as a payroll clerk at Brown Shoe Factory and then retiring as a production supervisor from Kimberly Clark. However, it was not just her professional achievements that defined her; it was her enduring passion for life, love, and family that truly shined.
Together with her husband, Judy shared a profound love for show horses, which brought immense joy and happiness through their venture, J&J Stables. Their shared dreams and laughter created cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
Judy's heart expanded in the presence of her grandsons, who held a special place in her heart, and later, the arrival of her great-grandchildren filled her life with even more love and joy. She took great delight in their lives, celebrating their milestones and creating unforgettable moments.
On October 13, 2025, Judy departed this world in
Selmer, Tennessee, at the age of 80 years, bringing an end to a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting impact. She is survived by her loving daughter, Ann Burks and husband Phillip of Bethel Springs, TN; three grandchildren, Anthony Lambert and wife Hannah of
Selmer, TN, Brandon Lambert and wife Allison of
Selmer, TN, and Chelse Parker and husband Eddie of Brandon, MS; as well as seven great-grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy-Nolan Lambert, Malcolm Lambert, Mason Lambert, Ella Lambert, Burkley Parker, Ansley Lambert, Hallie Parker; sister-in-law, Jacque May.
In addition to her husband and parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Jim May, whose memory she held dear.
Judy May Sweatt's life was a testament to love, resilience, and family bonds. As we mourn her passing, let us celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind-one filled with warmth, kindness, and an unyielding spirit of joy.
