Jule Morris Talley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on Sunday, August 1st, 1926, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Jule lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love.
Jule was a proud veteran, having served in the Navy during World War II. His commitment to his country was matched by his dedication to his career. He worked as an Assistant Superintendent at the Great Southern Paper Mill in Jakin, GA, where he was respected and admired by colleagues and friends alike.
Jule was a resident of Blakely, GA, where he shared a loving marriage of 73 years with his devoted wife, Margaret Farmer Talley. Together, they built a family that was the center of Jule's world. He is survived by his wife Margaret, and his children, Gina Talley Holman of Blakely, GA, Nick Talley and his wife Joan of Newnan, GA, and Reid Talley and his wife Melissa of Danville, KY. Jule was a proud grandfather to Talley Holman, Phillip Holman, Elizabeth Danbury, Kathleen Peavy, Meg Talley, Will Talley, Laeah O'Barr, Alyssa Ringwood, Ashley MacDonell, and Nicholas Campbell, and a cherished great-grandfather to 13 great-grandchildren.
Jule is also survived by his siblings, Edwin Miller of Bogalusa, LA, and Hollis Talley of Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas Talley and Viola Talley, as well as his siblings Ella Munizza, Malcolm Talley, Delton Talley, and Myrl Talley.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Chris Guffey will officiate the service. Burial to follow at Pine Lawn Gardens Cemetery.
Jule's life was a testament to hard work, loyalty, and the importance of family. He will be remembered for his warm smile, his unwavering integrity, and his generous spirit.
Arrangements are being handled by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Jule's family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating his remarkable life and legacy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
