Julia Adkisson Obituary

Julia Ann Barnett Adkisson, September 4, 1942, was raised in Caruthersville, Missouri, and she graduated from Caruthersville High School in 1960.

She was married to James E. Adkisson for 57 years and 8 months, and they lived in Clinton for 55 years. They raised 3 children (Kim, Scott, Chad), and they have 4 grandchildren (Jordan, Bailey, Savannah, Presley).

Prior to retiring, she worked for Digital Equipment Computers and Sims Prosthetics where she received many awards over the years for accomplishments and dedication to her career.

She was also active in the Jaycees/Jaycettes, holding both local and regional chapter offices. She worked with several governors of the state of MS on community service projects and served on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Prevention of Blindness.

She loved Jesus Christ, her Savior, and she lifted many up in prayer daily throughout her life. Her family was key to her life, and she always put their needs before her own. Spending time with family during the holidays, especially Thanksgiving, was something she looked forward to each year. She loved Christmas…the decorations, the music, the whole season! Making Christmas Eve and Christmas Day extra special for her family was always a priority. Also, she took joy from spending time with her grandbabies, who affectionately called her Mimi.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Temple Baptist Church in Missouri.
