Julia Farley Obituary

Julia Ann Farley, 82, of Yorkville, passed away January 27, 2026, at MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born, April 11, 1943, in New York City, a daughter of Harold K. and Julia Sankowski Lamb. On November 17, 1962, Julia was married to William S. Farley, Jr., a blessed union of 51 years, until his passing on November 27, 2013. Mrs. Farley retired from NYS Dept. of Corrections, where she worked as Commissary Manager for 25 years. She had worked at Mid-State, Marcy, and Rome Correctional Facilities. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, and St. Paul's Catholic Church. Julia was a member of the Yorkville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for many years.

Julia was devoted to her family throughout her life. She took great pride in their accomplishments. She also treasured the relationships that she shared with her neighbors and friends, and the support that she received from them.

She is survived by her sons, Greg (Kathy) Farley, Greenville, SC, and William H. Farley, Sr., Sauquoit; her brothers and sister, Robert Lamb (Renee), John (Donna) Lamb, Rosalie Baker, and Chris Lamb; in-laws, George (Tina) Farley and Howard (Theresa) Hart; grandchildren, Thomas Farley (Caressa), Alexander Farley (Amanda), William H. Farley, Jr. (Megan), Maxwell Farley (Peyton), Dexter Buschor (Kira), and Joshua Light (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Cara, Tressa, Cooper and LiL Tom, Peyton, and Hudson. She was predeceased by her grandson, Corey Farley.

The family would like to express their appreciation to MVHS Rehab and Nursing, especially the staff of Barton East, for their professionalism, care and compassion. The family would also like to give special recognition to Tina Farley for blessing Julia with steadfast love, care, and friendship over the past few years. Thank you Aunt Tina for your loyalty and dedication!

I graduated from New York Mills Class of 1960 with Julia. We were best of friends during high school but unfortunately lost touch after that especially when I moved to Albany. Remembering the good times we had. My prayers go out to the family. Sheila Roberts Smith
