Julia Ann Hardesty passed away at the young age of 70, surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born September 22, 1954 to her parents, James and Dorothy Hardesty. Julia attended Stuart High School and was proud to be in the first graduating class of 1972. She retired after a lengthy and successful career in the wealth management division at PNC Bank and Stock Yards Bank.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lawrence Hardesty; sister, Karen Miller; and great niece, Whitney Marie Collins.

She is survived by her siblings, Kevin Hardesty (Pam), Nancy Shuck (Jerry), Janet Mitchell, Pat Hardesty, Sara Clemons (Dennis) and Neal Hardesty; brother-in-law, Travis Miller; nieces and nephews, Cristina Hardesty (Paul), Laurie Hardesty (Patrick DeLuca), Holly Stewart (Chad), Amanda Collins, Michael Hardesty, Sara Foreman (Chris), Megan Miller (Jennifer), Jordan Mitchell (Emily), Cristie Sutherland (Josh) and Amanda Mount (Alex); great nieces and great nephews, Jarett Stewart, Wes Stewart, Ella Kurvers, Claire Kurvers, Cody Collins, Taylor Collins, Logan Foreman, Addison Foreman, Gemma Mitchell, Margot Mitchell, Nellie Mitchell, Baylor Mount, Emerson Mount, Peyton Mount, Weston Sutherland and Rohan Sutherland; and her best friend, Deborah Harrison.

Julie or "Queen Jules" was the life of the party. She loved celebrating with family and friends. She was the biggest cheerleader to her great nieces and nephews and attended all their events, even though they refused to try her famous Lima beans. She was a diehard UK fan, an expert chocolate chip cookie maker, and forget the canned stuff, "without any question", only freshly made cranberry sauce would be on her Thanksgiving table.

She was living her best life and enjoyed traveling with her friend Deborah. Some would say they were a modern day Thelma and Louise. You never knew where they would end up and most of the time they didn't either until they got there.

Julie was loved by all those who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

Her funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 31st at 12 noon at Cathedral of Assumption, 433 S. 5th St. with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held in church from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to the Cathedral of Assumption Catholic Church.
