Julia Jackson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium on Mar. 11, 2026.
Julia (Julie) Buckalew Jackson, 74, widow of Julius L. (Sparky) Jackson Jr. passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at McLeod Health Clarendon.

Born September 4, 1951, in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Emily Arden Spigner Buckalew and the late Alman Lamar Buckalew.

She devoted her life to caring for and supporting her family, always putting their needs before her own. Julie found great joy in the simple things-spending time with those she loved, tending to her flowers and yard, playing tennis, and caring for her beloved animals. She had a generous spirit and a warm heart; her kindness touched many lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include one daughter, Emily McCaskill (Tal); one stepson, Reid Jackson (Hope); one grandchild, Maddie Day; one sister, Leila (Lee) Mancini.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Alman Buckalew, Jr..

Graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
