We are devastated to lose our beloved sister-in-law and Aunt who was so caring and thoughtful. Our visits to Salem to spend time with Julie and Jim were always wonderful adventures, meticulously planned with delicious food and great people.
Julie was so lively, intelligent and motivated- we all loved her company so much and we miss her immensely.
Sending all of our love and support to Jim and Rosemary,
Michele, Colette and Gavin McKean

About 10 years ago, I took an Adult Ed. cooking class taught by Julie at NSCC. It was terrific class that rekindled my interest in gourmet level food preparation. Julie had a unique style of instruction, prompting all the students to cook together in harmony. So sorry to hear of her passing.

While I didn´t know Julia well, she was a neighbor hile
Ai libed in Salem and I often would walk by and she´d say hello if she was out in her yard or on her porch. I was always impressed with how active she was in Salem and thought of her as one of the many strong women who have made that city so great. Thanks for all you´ve done, the kindness you´ve shown, and sharing your adventures on facebook. You will be sorely missed. the kindness

Julie was not only the best boss I ever had, while I was Chair of Salem's No Place for Hate Committee and she lead Salem Award Foundation, we organized a symposium at Salem State, "Taking Action Against Intimidation" with SSU's Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies and it exceeded all expectations. Julie was a good friend for so many and always stepped up. -Jeff Cohen
