SALEM- Patrick Michael Ryan (69), of Salem, passed away on Friday August 8, 2025, at Bringham and Women Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Born in Salem, Patrick was the son of late Judith M. (Hughes) and Martin "Marly" P. Ryan. Patrick grew up attending local schools and went onto attend Bishop Fenwick High School. During his tenure for the Crusaders, Patrick experienced a devastating loss when his father passed away his sophomore year. Overcoming that adversity, she shined on the football field and was a devoted leader to his teammates and fellow classmates. Patrick held multiple rushing records as a star fullback and lead his team over his four years there. As a member of the Class of 1974, he was given the Loudest Senior as his superlative for his magnetic personality and ability to connect and reach so many within his class. Patrick went onto enlist in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1977. Upon his honorable discharge, Patrick came home and worked as a deputy sheriff in Essex County working in the Middleton Correctional facility for 25 years before retiring and working as a Beverly Police Reserve Officer for four years. Above all, Patrick will be remembered as a devoted husband and a loving father to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Patrick is survived by: his wife of 19 years Tina Ryan, his children Joshua Ryan, Jospeh Ryan, Rachel Ryan, Hames Ryan, his step son Austin Lynds, his 13 grandchildren, his siblings Sheamus Ryan, Kerri Ryan, and his belove Persian cats Finn, Liam, and Paddy. He is predeceased by his sister Shannon Ryan. A service will be held on Saturday August 16, 2025 beginning at 2:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal St. Salem.
