Julia A. Schechter

Julia A. Schechter, ninety-one, of Fort Lauderdale passed away on October 20th, 2025 while in Hospice Care at Broward General Hospital.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Trenton, New Jersey with Father J. Lee leading the prayer.

Julia Schechter was born in Brooklyn, New York to Hobart and Marion Corning on August 5th, 1934.

Upon graduation from LIU/Brooklyn Julia became a Dental Hygienist and worked in the NYC area for 16 years. She was an active member and past President of the Dental Hygienists Association.

Julia Schechter had been married four times, most recently to Paul Schafer (deceased). They resided in Fort Lauderdale; first at a private residence and later at the Everglades House.

Julia is survived by her children, Julie and James Cillo, Robert and Mary Schiemel as well as her brother Jason and Carole Corning. Her grandchildren are Daniel and Staci Schiemel, Jaclyn and Christopher Mistretta and Matthew and Julie Cillo. Great-grandchildren-Brody and Jake Schiemel.
