Jonathan Samuel Scibica, of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida, passed away on January 23, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale. He was 35 years old.

Jonathan was born on February 15, 1990, in Miami–Kendall, Florida, to Liliana Hernandez and Michael Scibica. He was raised and educated in Broward County, where he became known for his strength, compassion, and deep commitment to the people and community he loved.

Jonathan was the co-owner and gym coach of Level Up Gym in Fort Lauderdale. A retired boxing champion, he earned numerous awards throughout his career, but his greatest fulfillment came from mentoring others. Jonathan dedicated himself to training and guiding future fighters-from young children to seasoned athletes-instilling discipline, confidence, and resilience in everyone who stepped into the gym.

Giving back was a core part of who Jonathan was. Each year, Level Up Gym hosted its own local toy drive, partnering with a local youth shelter to support children in need. Jonathan took great pride in personally delivering the toys every year, finding true joy in seeing the smiles of the children and knowing he was making a difference. He believed strongly in community, kindness, and showing up for those who needed it most.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his beloved older brother, Michael Scibica.

He is survived by his younger brother Steven Scibica; his cousin-sister Lesli Graham; his "sister from another mister," Elia Carranza; and his loving mother, Liliana Williams, who meant everything to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Level Up Gym. In accordance with Jonathan's wishes, there will be no traditional funeral service. His life will be honored and celebrated in the way he would have wanted-through remembrance, shared stories, and love.

Memorial contributions may be made to Steven Scibica and Liliana Williams, or to Elia Carranza, who will ensure the family receives them.

The family of Jonathan Samuel Scibica extends their deepest gratitude to Detective Kristina Luna and the Broward Sheriff's Office for their dedication and compassion in helping bring our beloved family member home. We also sincerely thank all who assisted with coordinating searches, organizing efforts, and walking the grids-boots on the ground-in the search for our missing brother. Heartfelt thanks are also extended to the staff at the Medical Examiner's Office and Baird–Case Funeral Home for their care, professionalism, and kindness during this difficult time.

Jonathan's legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the fighters he guided, and the community he loved so deeply. He will be forever remembered.
