Julia Cosh Stone, 91, of Santa Paula, California, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, surrounded by family. Julia was born in Santa Paula to Richard and Neva Cosh on August 30, 1933. She went to Santa Paula High School and graduated in 1951. After attending classes at Ventura College, she worked as a clerk typist at Point Mugu for 20 years and a caregiver for some time after that. She enjoyed bowling, roller-skating, singing in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church, reading, watching the Dodgers and westerns, and spending time with her family.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Karen Brooks of Santa Paula, Christine Kirby of Redding; sister Jean Boyer of Ventura; grandchildren Eric Kirby (Kassie), Nikole McBain (Todd), Sean Kirby (Jessie), Kellyn Flores (Luis), Shane Brooks; and great-grandchildren Syvella, Owen, Nathan, Vyvian, Neva, Boyd, Andrew, Ayvori and Gracie. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Neva Cosh and sister Margaret Cosh. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to her longtime caregiver Maria Ayala, Santa Paula Post Acute and Assisted Home Health and Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
