Julia Thoms
June 1, 1956 – February 12, 2026

Julia Thoms, 69, passed away on February 12, 2026, at Cox Hospital, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Born on June 1, 1956, Julia lived a life centered around her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and she made sure they always knew how deeply they were loved. She found her greatest joy not in grand gestures, but in the everyday moments spent with the people who mattered most.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Thoms; her daughter, Valorie Webb; her son-in-law, Joseph Webb; her son, David Brooks; her grandson, Tyler Webb; her brother, Eugene; and her sister, Rosemary. The losses she experienced throughout her life were heavy, but she carried her strength quietly and continued to show up for those who needed her, always putting her family first.

She is survived by her daughters, Julia Adams and her husband, Donovan Adams; Lela Thoms; and her son, John D. Thoms. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Cara McConnell; Jonathan Vernon and his wife, Jordan; Jacob Thoms and his wife, Riley; Destiny Tripp; James Torre; Mackenzie Vernon; Kaiden Tripp; and August Torre. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren who brought her endless happiness and pride.

Julia is also survived by her brothers, Richard, Vernon, and Wayne; her sister, Theresa; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Outside of her family, Julia enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved crafts and was often working on something with her hands. She had a special love for horses, especially her beloved Ginger, and never lost her appreciation for their beauty and strength. She also adored hummingbirds and found joy in watching them flutter about - small but meaningful reminders of the beauty in everyday life.

Her love, resilience, and steady presence will live on in the family she built and cherished. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
